Last Christmas (2009) I met my idol, Nigella Lawson, at a book signing for her Christmas book, Nigella Christmas.
It was a cold day in December as I trotted over to the William-Sonoma in Chelsea after work. I bought two books (one for me and one as a gift for my sister) and waited in line with baited breathe to me the Domestic Goddess herself. All I can say is...she was WONDERFUL! She was just the person in person that you imagine her to be when you see her on TV. She offered a kind word, a short conversation (which I stumbled through like a slightly stunned teenager), and two beautifully penned sentiments to my sister and myself.
It was such a great day that I decided it was worth writing about over a year later. Thank you, Nigella, for that wonderful brief meeting and I look forward to having a TRUE adult brief conversation at our next meeting.
